What To Expect

Sometimes it can feel uncomfortable walking into a church without knowing what to expect.  Allow us to help you out by answering some of the most common questions asked by first time visitors.

As a visitor or newcomer, will I be welcome at Glenn Street FMC?

Yes, you're always welcome to worship with us!

Is there anything I need to do before I can attend a service?

No!  All are welcome to attend services at Glenn Street FMC!

What if I'm not a "Christian" or don't have a church background?

Yes, you are still welcome!  We believe that God has each of us on a spiritual journey, but we recognize that not everyone is at the very same point in that journey.  We're glad to have you join us and we look forward to God leading you forward in your relationship with Him.

What should I wear?  Do you have a dress code?

We don't have a dress code!  Wear whatever is comfortable for you!  You will see everything from a shirt and tie to jeans and a t-shirt at our services.

How long is the service?

Our Sunday morning worship service lasts about an hour and 15 minutes.

What can my kids expect?

You are welcome to keep your children with you throughout the service, take them to the nursery, or have them participate in Children's Church.  For more information about Children's Church for ages 3 years through 5th grade, click here.  We also have a nursery for parents of children birth-2 years old with a live video feed of the service.  The nursery is located in the lower level of the church.  Children in 6th grade through 12th grade remain in the service, but are encouraged to attend Youth Group on Thursday evenings.

What type of worship music can I expect?

Our Worship Band plays contemporary Christian music.
